Kelli’s Artwork Gallery

I have always loved art! I remember that even as a small child, I always wanted to grow up to be an artist. Over the years I’ve dabbled in many different mediums and have made many different things, although most aren’t worth sharing! But I have made a number of things I am proud of, and thought I’d share them here. As you will see, most of my art is centered around animals or nature, but I have branched out here and there. So I hope you will enjoy seeing some of the random art projects I’ve done over the years!

– Acrylic Painting –

Painting was always my first love when it comes to art. I never was able to do as many paintings as I wanted, and most that I have done did not turn out as I had hoped, but nevertheless it’s always been a favorite! Below are a few of the ones I’ve been the most happy with.

The painting above and to the right is a painting I did in high school of my boyfriend (now husband). It’s based off of a photo he took of himself being a goofball and holding up his high school graduation pendant. As you can see, he thought he looked pretty cool in this picture! And I’m sure he would love that I’m sharing this!!

sisley the bridge at moret-sur-Loing1

The photo to the right is of Alfred Sisley’s The Bridge at Moret-Sur-Loing. As an art class assignment, we had to replicate a painting onto a bottle. So this is the painting I chose. I really like impressionism, and thought this was a beautiful painting. So below the original you can see a composite picture of my replication on a bottle. I didn’t do the greatest job of making the composite, so it’s a little warbled, since it was around a bottle.

– Watercolor Painting –

Watercolor painting is my absolute favorite! I don’t claim to be very good at it, but I love to look at other people’s watercolor paintings. I’ve done quite a few but don’t have many photographed yet, so here are just some of the ones I’ve done over the years.

The painting above of Finland is one I made for my father-in-law for Christmas. He is Finnish, and loves all things about Finland! I got the idea from another artist I’ve seen who paints countries or states with hearts in them. And then since the outline of Finland is tall and skinny, I thought it would be nice to add the flag above, to fill out the space in the frame.

– Polymer Clay –

I’ve been playing with polymer clay since I was about 12. I instantly loved it! My earlier pieces were certainly nothing I’d want to share, but more recently I made a small collection of things I was happy with. I tried unsuccessfully to sell some online, but that’s ok. I had a great time creating them! My work was mostly inspired by Christi Friesen, who is my favorite polymer clay artist. She does amazing work, and if you haven’t heard of her, you should definitely check out her work!!
