We have received many suggestions over the past year or so to add a blue jay pattern to our "Backyard Bird" collection. This was a bird that we were really excited to design, but also a little intimidated! They are beautiful birds and have such detailed feather patterns, that we wanted to make sure that we did it justice. And because of that, this ended up being one of our most intricate patterns yet. We had a lot of trial and error with the feather design, but in the end, I think it ended up as we had envisioned!

And while this blue jay does have a lot of pattern pieces, it actually is not as complicated to create as it may look. Our pattern fully explains how to place each feather, and we think that it should actually be rather easy to make. We hope that you will love how our blue jay turned out too!

More Birds!

We would like to continue focusing on creating more patterns for our "Backyard Birds" collection. We have not decided yet what the next bird will be, but we are considering an oriole or house sparrow. But of course we have a long list of around 20 bird species we still want to do!!

So if you have a suggestion you think we may not have on our list, please let us know!! We always welcome your suggestions!!

And on a more personal note, my daughter will be turning 2 years old! So I will be taking a week or two to plan her party... it's ladybug theme!! I would like to eventually post pictures of decorations and ideas from this party, and past parties, on our website, if anyone might be interested in this.
